About Alley Realty & Auction

Knoxville's most trusted auctioneers

Alley Realty & Auction was formed in 1966 by the late David Alley Sr. In 1979, his son, David Alley Jr., merged his auction company with his father's realty firm and formed the modern-day Alley Realty & Auction. The firm moved into land development in the early 1980s, predominantly developing and subdividing large tracts throughout East Tennessee.

In the 1990s, Alley began developing major subdivisions and selling individual lots by auction. While this method was considered radical within the homebuilding industry at the time, it quickly gained popularity. Many companies, banks, and developers began employing Alley Realty & Auction because of its proven success. Since then, the firm has developed more than 40 subdivisions and sold over 2,400 lots at auction.

Notable sales include the land for Turkey Creek Town Center, the land for Willow Creek Golf Course, and the Candy Factory Loft Condominiums in downtown Knoxville.

Our Founder

David Lewis Alley, Jr.

David Lewis Alley, Jr. serves as President of Alley Realty & Auction, continuing the legacy established by his father in 1966. With extensive experience in development, construction, marketing, and sales, David has personally owned, developed, and sold more than 42 residential communities throughout East Tennessee.

Known for creating practical solutions and delivering results, he has built a reputation for leadership, professionalism, and service within the real estate and auction industries.

Trey Alley

A third-generation auctioneer and Knoxville native, Trey brings over a decade of real estate experience and a passion for innovative marketing to Alley Realty & Auction.

A Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Tennessee, Trey is also a licensed pilot and dedicated nonprofit advocate. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, flying, and spending quality time with his wife and daughters.

A University of Tennessee finance graduate, Hunter spent eight years on Wall Street with Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs before bringing his financial expertise to Alley Realty & Auction.
